Welcome Smart Marriages! Christian PREP, Inc. is pleased to announce this prayer journal, Like a Tree Planted by Water.
While not a full curriculum, this prayer journal can be used "out-of-the-box". It can be used without any training, and apart from --or along with-- any marriage education curriculum. This journal can be purchased and used by individuals or it can be purchased by marriage education leaders to use along with whatever curriculum they are teaching. From the introduction: This prayer journal for your marriage is about building your marital relationship on the strongest possible foundation: God's love for you and your mate. In the course of this journal, you will be asking for a change in your marriage from the inside out. Whether you are happy or unhappy with your relationship, there are powerful possibilities to be unlocked. The journal is for you and your prayer life.
Although the journal can be used by you and your mate at the same time,
you should each have your own journal.
Even if your spouse is not ready to start journaling at this time, you
can work through the journal and make a difference in your marriage.
This journal is designed to help you invite God to take part in your
relationship and to invite Him to lead you on a path of growth and development
in your marriage. The journal covers 12 important areas of your relationship.
Every area begins with a few conceptual seeds that are rooted in
scripture, and that can branch out into multiple areas of your life.
You can nurture these seeds and help them grow.
If they fall on fertile ground in your life, they may start small, and
yet blossom to yield 100-fold. The prayer journal was developed by Christian PREP, Scott Stanley, and the ProSAAM team, led by Steven Beach and Tera Hurt, that is conducting research on using prayer in marriage education at the University of Georgia.
